Mapping HYD.

A living atlas of Hyderabad — maps that answer where to build, eat, live, and what the city is losing — one layer at a time.

What I owned

From the first decision
to the shipped product.

Solo product series: Next.js hub at mapmyhyd.com, Leaflet and Firebase map apps, open data seeding, and a shared architecture for each new city layer.

One city, named layers

The hub presents Hyderabad as a series of maps — startups live first, with eateries and heritage in progress — so each layer is a clear product, not a dumped directory.

Product decisions

01

Ship a series, not a single map

The startup map proved the gap. Mapping HYD turns that into an atlas — reusable map kit, seeded data, and a hub that introduces each layer as it ships.

02

Make the city searchable

Each layer is useful on its own: startups with funding and jobs on a live map first; eateries, heritage, and more in the pipeline — open data, real places, maps you can actually use.

The shipped work

Hub live at mapmyhyd.com; Hyderabad Startup Map live at startups.mapmyhyd.com. Eateries Race and Deccan Heritage are next in the series.
